A Lagos based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim Shamsideen a.K.a Ibadallah has lashed out at all forms of terrorism and insurgency presently plaguing Nigeria, condemning them as irreligious and un-Islamic.
Speaking at the First Ramadan Lecture of the National Standard Television, Lagos (NStv, Lagos) held at its Ogun State office at Okelewo, Abeokuta, Abdallah categorically emphasized that all perpetrators of these evil acts that are disturbing the peace of the nation are not only going to surfer and regret their evil deeds in the end, they are all going to hell in the afterlife.
The Islamic cleric explained that all kidnappers, herders, insurgents and other perpetrators disturbing the peace of the country, along with those aiding and abetting them are faithless and are not good Muslims.
He noted that one of the salient characteristics of a good Muslim is that he is ever living in the fear of Allah and are dreadful of the Judgement Day as all deeds here on earth will be accounted for in the hereafter.
Speaking on the topic "Insecurity And Societal Growth: The Islamic Remedy" and backing his lecture with Surat 112, Sheikh Shamsideen said all good Muslims must respect the peace of Allah for His creation.
He said farming is a noble occupation blessed by Allah and that all herders terrorising farmers and causing economic misfortunes for them and the country will definitely go to hell, pointing out that such acts are evilish and not permissible by the Quoran, the Holy Book of Islam.
Sheikh Ibrahim Shamsideen also stressed that all those posturing to be assisting the nation by serving as intermediaries between kidnappers, herders, insurgents and other perpetrators of evil deeds and their victims and governments have their own selfish interests to gain in the evil deeds adding that these people too are as guilty as those they are aiding.
Ibadallah begged governments in the country to have the love and care for the people at heart, noting that whatever is due to the people should not be denied them.
He said government workers and pensioners should be settled as at when due, pointing out that any dissatisfied person is a probable candidate for insurgency and other nefarious activities.
The Islamic cleric begged all Nigerians to aspire to purity of their religion, to have a clean heart and love for God and His creation.
Sheikh Ibrahim Shamsideen who came to the lecture with a retinue was assisted in the Quoranic recitation by Alfa Ibrahim AbdulBasit and the lecture was held under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Fatai Ajibola.
Speaking later, the Chief Executive of National Standard Television, Lagos (NStv, Lagos), Lanre Adegboyega thanked the cleric saying that his organization will henceforth annually organise the Ramadan Lecture.
He said the nation needed more of this kind of lecture so as to keep informing all perpetrators of evil deeds disturbing the nation.
