LG in Ogun to expend over N10b as 2025 Appropriation Bill

A local government in Ogun State, Yewa North LG, is to spend a whopping sum of N10,480,671,345.00 as its proposed Budget for this year.

Presenting the proposed budget to the Legislative Council as at the Odebiyi Legislative Chamber, Ayetoro, the Chairman, Dr. Olusola Akinbode said the Budget tagged: "Budget of Sustainable Transformation" would make up of N5.101 billion as recurrent and N5.379 billion as Capital expenditures.

Giving highlights of the Appropriation, the Chairman said the sum of N572.949m would go for Personnel Cost, N4,341bn for CRFC while N187,130m would be spent on Overhead cost.

On the funding of the 2025 Budget, the Chairman said an estimated N462,900m would come from the council Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), N760m from Allocation from State Government Account while N9.257bn would be from Statutory Allocation from Federation Account.

The Local Government boss, while analysing the sectoral run down of the budget, said Agriculture would gulp N366m representing 9.56 percent, Works and Housing N1.352bn representing 25.13 percent, Primary Healthcare N285,350m representing 4.3 percent while the sum of N 48,000m of 3.1 percent would go for Education.

"We will continue to give staffers' welfare priority and treasure the lives of the residents, as the dividends of democracy have been widened to include the empowerment of people and the adequate provision of Infrastructural facilities.

The Chairman lauded the efforts of career officers for their support and cooperation, also appreciating the legislative arm for their steadfastness, promising to strive hard to improve the living standard of the citizenry.

Reacting, the Leader of the House, Hon. Stephen Adeogun, commended the Chairman's developmental efforts, saying the legislative Council would ensure that the budget receives accelerated consideration and speedy passage in the interest of the People.

The event had in attendance, Vice Chairman, Hon. Olumide Ilori, Secretary of the Council, Alh.  Lukumon Akinyemi, among others.
