Abiodun says traditional rulers are responsible for community peace ...Installs new Onitafin


Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has stated that traditional rulers were responsible for promoting peace, unity, and progress in their domains.

The governor said this while speaking at the Installation and Presentation of Staff of Office to the newly installed Onitafin of Orile-Itafin, Oba Alani Adebayo, in Odeda Local Government Area of the State.

Governor Abiodun, represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Razak Daddah, noted that community growth and development could only thrive in a peaceful environment, highlighting the State government's commitment to proper positioning of traditional institutions in the State.

In their goodwill messages, the Oniro of Iro, Oba Najeem Adebari and Seriki of Egbaland, Chief Tosin Fadare, commended the new monarch for his resilience and hard work, urging him to accord respect to other traditional rulers and his people, while praying for his peaceful and progressive reign.

Contributing, Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Hon. Folashade Adeyemo, represented by her deputy, Hon. Adigun Yaya, urged the monarch to lead with integrity and dedication, emphasising the need for cooperation and support from the people, to accelerate development in Itafin and its environs.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Adebayo, expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun for the opportunity to serve, reiterating his commitment towards ensuring equity in the development of Orile-Itafin, promising to work with the government and the people to achieve great feats, in tandem with the State's ISEYA mantra.
