Portable surrenders to police yesterday, arraigned in court today

Okikiola a.k.a Portable

Habeeb Okikiola, the Controversial Nigerian singer, popularly known as Portable has today been arraigned in court at the Isabo High Court of Ogun State in Abeokuta.

This is sequel to his surrender to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba on Wednesday, after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.

The Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba brought him directly to the Ogun State Police Command which confirmed to the general public that Portable arrived at Abeokuta, at exactly 13:23 hours yesterday.

In a release signed by CSP Omolola Odutola, the
Police Public Relations Officer for
Ogun State Police Command
Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta yesterday, the police said Portable's presence at the SCID is in connection with an ongoing investigation.

The Command also assured the public that due process will be followed in handling this matter, and updates will be provided as necessary.

The police urged members of the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information as the Ogun State Police Command remains committed to upholding justice and maintaining public order.

Portable's arrangement stemmed from an incident on February 5, 2025, when Portable allegedly led an attack on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during an enforcement exercise at his bar in the Sango Ota area.

The officials sustained injuries, and while nine of Portable’s associates were arrested, the singer evaded capture until his recent surrender.

Portable, born on March 12, 1994, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, gained prominence with his 2021 hit single “ZaZoo Zehh,” featuring Olamide and Poco Lee.

His career has been marked by multiple controversies, including public disputes with fellow artists and allegations of violent behaviour.

The Ogun State Government has condemned Portable’s actions, describing him as a “serial dissident and unrepentant rascal.”

They emphasized their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that such behaviour is addressed appropriately.
