OBA OLANITE CALLS FOR REVOLUTIONARY TRANSFORMATION OF IMEKOLAND

Oba Benjamin Alabi Olanite, Onimeko of Imeko Kingdom

The Onimeko of Imeko Kingdom, Oba Benjamin Alabi Olanite, Egi-Ogboye Akanku IV, a member of the Board of Trustees of YEWA PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (YPDC) has called on all sons, daughters, friends  and associates of  Imeko Kingdom to come together to effect the much needed revolutionary transformation of Imeko land.

The monarch made the call while  expressing his gratitude to God and all the people of the land, friends, families and associates during the 10th Coronation Anniversary Thanksgiving held last Sunday at Methodist Church Oja Kekere, Diocese of Ketu, Imeko.

Oba Olanite, basking in the euphoria of a successful 10 years reign recounted some of the challenges faced and landmark achievements.

According to the Onimeko, he was overwhelmed by the turnout of people both from within and outside Nigeria who came to rejoice with him saying their support financially, morally and spiritually had contributed to his success so far; and whatever he is today is owned to God and the people.

He then solicited for more support so as to do more for his people, imploring that all hands must come on deck for the development of Imeko,  Ketuland and Yewaland in general in order for the enclave to reclaim its rightful place in the comity of communities in the country.

The Onimeko also appealed to well-meaning individuals in the area to ensure that youths are gainfully employed as future leaders by establishing industries and manufacturing companies since the task of development is a collective responsibility.

Oba Olanite promised  to continue to put people-oriented programmes in the front burner even as he upholds the culture and tradition of Ketuland as a whole.

He also used the occasion to appeal to the government on the much needed total overhauling of Abeokuta-Imeko-Igbogbo (border town) road to alleviate the agony being  faced by commuters and people in the area on this road.

Present at the event were members of Imeko/Afon Local Government chapter of YPDC led by its Chairman, Com.  Olutunde Aninkan among other dignitaries.
