Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has reiterated his administration's determination to continue to ensure that dividends of democracy percolate to the grassroots.
Governor Abiodun stated this during the recent commissioning of Dapo Abiodun Viewing Centre, at Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area Secretariat Complex.
The governor who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Razak Daddah, said his administration would continue to boost Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of local governments as well as create job opportunity for residents.
While pointing out that the initiative has direct impact on the people and should be well managed, the governor commended the Chairman, Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Hon. Lanre Ogunsola, for his prudent management of financial resources at his disposal to execute the various projects in the area which were in tandem with the” ISEYA” mantra of the present administration.
In his remarks, Commissioner, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Emmanuel Shofela, lauded the council’s boss for the developmental strides in the local government, saying his achievements was as a result of his yearnings to better the livelihood of the people.
On his part, the Olu of Owode, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo, commended Governor Abiodun for his support, which facilitated the execution of various projects in the area.
Oba Sowemimo gave kudos to the Chairman for complementing government's developmental projects at the grassroots.
Earlier, Hon. Ogunsola, who stated that the council runs a transparent and equity system, in line with the present administration's slogan, "Igbega Ipinle Ogun, Ajose Gbogbo Wa Ni", added that all efforts were geared towards replicating the infrastructural and economic development to the grassroots in addressing the needs and aspirations of the people, appreciating Governor Abiodun for his passion, foresight and purposeful leadership.
Other projects executed include, sinking of motorised boreholes at Alapako-Oni, Owode-Egba, Fidiwo, grading of verges on Siun-Owode Road and construction of ultra-modern shopping complex at Magboro, among others.
Dignitaries who graced the commissioning were, Permanent Secretary, Directors in the Ministry, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi and Directors, Mr. Olusegun Ibirinde and Mrs. Folashade Shogbiyeju; National Union of Local Government Employee Chairman, Odeda, Mrs. Bukola Ige; royal fathers, women leaders, among others.
