It is the responsibility of government at all levels to provide and create an enabling environment that would allow businesses to thrive, and thereby increase the Internally Generated Revenue, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said.
Abiodun made this declaration at the recent commissioning of Local Government Health Authority Administrative Block, Health Centre and 18 open stalls, at Oja-Oba Market, Isara Remo in Remo North Local Government Area.
The Governor therefore charged Chairmen in the 20 Local Government Areas of the state to continue to embark on realistic and people-oriented projects that would have a positive impact on the citizens.
Prince Abiodun who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, added that provision of health facilities, infrastructure and social amenities would have a direct bearing on the economic growth of the area and the state at large.
Also speaking at the occasion, Chairman, Remo North Local Government, Hon. Dapo Odunsi, appreciated the governor for his support, urging residents of the area to continue to cooperate with the present administration, ensure peaceful co-existence and work towards the progress and development of the local government area.
In his remarks, a former Chairman of the local government and an elder statesman in the area, Chief Kolapo Ogunjobi, commended the council chairman for his selflessness and commitment to the development of the council, enjoining him to ensure even distribution of projects across communities in the area.
Other dignitaries present at the commissioning were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Razak Daddah; Commissioner II, Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Koye Ijaduoye; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi; Director, Local Government Affairs, Mr. Olusegun Ibirinde; Director, Inspectorate and Monitoring, Mrs. Folashade Shogbiyeju; members of the Legislative Council and LG officials.
