South-west , Nigeria - The Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation has launched a Marketplace Sensitization Initiative as part of its comprehensive strategy to combat drug demand and supply.

The initiative aims to educate traders and market women on the crucial role they play in supporting the fight against drug abuse and the illicit drug trade within marketplaces.

Through this initiative, the foundation seeks to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, promote a drug-free lifestyle, and encourage market stakeholders to report suspicious activities related to drug trafficking.

The initiative includes sensitization walks, lecture sessions, free medical checkups, and distribution of materials with drug-free messages.

"The Marketplace Sensitization Initiative is a critical component of our efforts to combat drug abuse and promote a healthy and secure community," said Asiwaju Dapo Wahab, Founder of the Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation.

"We believe that by engaging market stakeholders, we can prevent drug abuse and reduce the demand for illicit drugs", said Asiwaju Wahab.

The initiative has already reached traders and residents in Ogun and  Ondo States' markets and plans are in the offing to expand to other markets and communities across Nigeria.
