Imeko Development Initiative (IDI) has last Monday distributed rice and beans to indigent people of Imeko Community in an effort to alleviate the effect of the prevailing economic hardship on the less privileged in the community, especially the fasting faithfuls.
The outreach which took place alongside a town hall meeting at Onimeko Conference Center Imeko was applauded by the people as an exemplary demonstration of love for the beneficiaries and sacrificial commitment to community Development.
The Onimeko of Imeko, Oba B.A.O Olanite who eulogized the gesture declared, “I want to thank the Trustees of Imeko Development Initiative for this gesture".
"I am not surprised of this anyway, they have done similar and greater things in the past.I am proud of you and I pray God to bless you more and more”, Oba Olanite added.
In his own message, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the association, Mr. Abel Fadebi advocated a need for all Imeko sons and daughters to unite and coalesce efforts towards the development of the town.
“I want to appreciate the cooperation and support of other trustees including Gen. Dele Shara (rtd), Mr. Timothy Olatunji, Dr. Olusegun Aninkan, Otunba Anthony Ajibode, DCP Kayode Ayilara, and Mr. Jesutola Fadipe. The effort of Mr. Tunde Aninkan can not also be overlooked, Mr. Fadebi noted.
Speaking further, the chairman of the Board of Trustees pointed out that: "As an umbrella body for all development thirsty Imeko Sons and Daughters, we have a lot to do in order to reclaim the lost glory of our town and uplift it to its rightful place in the comity of communities. The time to act is now”.
Other speakers at the event where critical issues concerning Imeko development were discussed commended the efforts of the association and prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon the sponsors of the initiative and the community at large.
