Ogun Govt Supports Burial Of Late Solanke

Ogun State government has disclosed its intention to support the family of late Pa Jimi Solanke, in giving the theatre icon, a befitting burial.

Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Fagbayi, who led the management team of the Ministry on a condolence visit to the family, stated this at the Solankes’ residence, in Ipara-Remo, saying the visit was to deliver a cheque donation of the state government to the family.

"We bring greetings from the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who is a people-loving governor,  who due to his busy schedule,  has asked the Ministry to come and represent the state to pay a condolence visit to the family of Pa  Solanke, as well as present this cheque to the family on behalf of the governor,  and to assure you that the state is working with the burial committee to ensure that Baba is given a befitting burial, as a great icon that cannot be forgotten in the history of the state", he said.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko, assured that the ministry’s representative in the burial committee would give the moral support needed to ensure that Pa. Solanke gets a befitting burial.

Remarking, the Secretary, Farewell Planning Committee of Pa. Jimi Solanke, Omoba Abiola Ogundeko, appreciated government for the donation, promising that the committee would leave no stone unturned in ensuring late Pa Solanke get a befitting burial.

Responding on behalf of the family, the first son of the deceased, Mr. Taiwo Solanke, expressed gratitude for the support and readiness to identify with the family of Solanke towards ensuring a successful burial of their father.
