In a concerted effort to combat drug abuse and promote a drug-free lifestyle, the Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation recently spearheaded a comprehensive awareness campaign at the African Church Primary School in Abule Odo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
The campaign, attended by 165 pupils, teachers, and community members was aimed at educating and empowering individuals to make informed choices regarding drug use.
During the campaign, all participating pupils took a solemn pledge to abstain from drugs, symbolizing their commitment to leading drug-free lives.
As part of the educational session, President of the Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, Alhaji Asiwaju Dapo Wahab delivered an insightful visual presentation highlighting the dangers of drug abuse.
Additionally, Mr. A. Adedokun, an Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics of the National Drug law enforcement agency (NDLEA), Ogun state Command provided valuable insights into the adverse effects of drugs on the body's vital organs, emphasizing the severe consequences of substance abuse.
The initiative received commendation from the Head Teacher of the school, who expressed gratitude to the Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) team, and the Beulah Foundation for their exemplary efforts.
He also appreciated the Foundation for a Drug-Free World for their support.
The headteacher emphasized the significant positive impact that such training and sensitization campaigns would have on the lives of the pupils, fostering a culture of awareness and resilience against drug abuse within the community.
Meanwhile, the Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation in partnership with the Foundation for a Drug-Free World has received a donation of 2000 booklets titled "The Truth About Drugs Educational Booklets" from the Church of Scientology International in Los Angeles, USA.
The chairman has extended the gratitude of the foundation to the Foundation for a Drug-Free World for their generous support and commitment to the shared mission of combating drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
