The people of Ogun State has been commended for peacefully co-existing with one another in the last 48 years without any communal rancor.
The commendation came from no less a personality than the Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun as the state marked the 48th anniversary of its creation.
The governor who implored the people of the state to continue to maintain such unity for the progress of the state also praised the contributions of his predecessors who, he said, laid the foundation of what the state is today
Speaking yesterday on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the creation of the state which was created in 1976 by the regime of the late General Murtala Mohammed, the governor noted that despite various challenges however, the Gateway State has become one of the most prosperous states in Nigeria through the efforts of successive administrations.
Prince Abiodun assured that his administration is irrevocably committed to the continued development of the state as well as the well-being of its citizens.
He said his administration will continue with the upward growth trajectory of the state through the ‘Building Our Future Together’ mantra as encapsulated in ISEYA.
“On this momentous occasion, I extend my warmest congratulations to the people of Ogun State as we celebrate the 48th anniversary of our beloved state.
“Since its creation on this day in 1976, Ogun State has witnessed tremendous growth and development in various sectors. We have become a thriving hub of industry, education, and culture, creating immense pride in our hearts.
“I want to express my deepest appreciation to all citizens of Ogun State for their unwavering support and dedication to our collective progress. It is through your hard work, resilience, and determination that we have achieved remarkable milestones over the years. Together, we have laid a solid foundation for an even brighter future for our great state", the governor said.
Prince Abiodun noted that: “As your Governor, I stand here today to assure you of my unwavering commitment to your well-being at all times. My administration remains steadfast in its mission to create an enabling environment that empowers our people and promotes inclusive growth. We will continue to prioritize infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, and job creation.
“I am proud of the strides we have made thus far, but I am aware that there is still much work to be done. I pledge to work tirelessly to address the challenges facing our state and ensure that every citizen of Ogun State enjoys the fruits of our collective efforts.
“On this occasion, I urge us all to reflect on the values that bind us together as one united and progressive Ogun State. Let us embrace the spirit of unity, support, and collaboration between the government and the people. Together, we can overcome any obstacles and build a future filled with prosperity, opportunities, and happiness for all.
“Once again, I congratulate everyone on this significant anniversary. Let us celebrate our achievements, honour our past leaders, and rededicate ourselves to the progress and development of Ogun State.”
