Smart classrooms for Ogun schools soon, says Arigbabu

Ogun State government has concluded arrangements to set up Smart Classrooms in all its 42 Flagship Secondary Schools for efficient and effective impartation.

The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu made this known yesterday in Abeokuta.

Prof. Arigbabu dropped this hint during the commissioning of projects such as staff rooms, school library, classrooms, principal’s office, teachers' and students’ furniture as well as solar-powered street lights, by the Old Students' Association of Ositelu Memorial College, Ogere Remo to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the school.

He explained that smart classrooms are the types of classrooms that are set up with technology-inclined facilities such as interactive boards with intellectual inputs, computers with internet facilities, projectors with smart screens and other essential technological gadgets.

The governor’s aide said the aim was to further promote efficient educational standards and to raise generations of students that are trained in line with 21st-century teaching Methodology, as well as sustaining the enviable legacies that the State is known for.

According to him, "the present administration will always appreciate the contributions of the Old Students for being supportive of its policy in transforming the education standards for desired development"

The National President of the Association, Deacon Adeola Sotayo, expressed satisfaction with the government, for working tirelessly in repositioning the standard of education at all levels.
