Oko Ilu Day Comes Up Tomorrow ...Gov. Abiodun, the special guest

Oko Ilu Day, a day set apart by the Ogun State Council of Baale to celebrate the traditional authorities in towns and villages in the state comes up tomorrow at the OK Centre at Ibara GRA, Abeokuta.

The one day event which was set up to be an annual gathering of Baale in Ogun State in order to show government the inherent might and influence in the collation of Baale, which number over 3,000, is to be declared opened by  Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Also expected to grace the occasion is the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat.

Speaking exclusively with THE STATEPOST yesterday, the President of the Ogun State Council of Baale, Baale Tunji Falola noted that the celebration of the'Oko Ilu Day' allows "us to call attention to matters of major concern to us as heads of traditional governments in towns and villages in the state".

Chief Falola who is also the Baale of Oke-Yidi, Lantoro, Abeokuta noted that celebration of the day facilitates fellowship among the innumerable Baale scattered all over the state and of course, help to reassure them of their relevance.

Tomorrow's celebration will commence by 11 a.m and THE STATEPOST will be there live to keep you informed of the proceedings of the event which promises to be lively.
