Activities lined up for the burial ceremony of late Oba Olaayinde Odetola, the former Olu of Agodo who was brutally murdered recently in the town has now been released.
At a press conference jointly addressed by Agodo, Imo and Egba Chiefs on Friday 14th October, 2022 at the Ake palace of the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, the burial arrangements is to be preceded by a Service of songs today, Tuesday 18th of October, 2022.
Other Burial Rites include the Funeral Service on Wednesday, 19th October by 2pm and the Traditional Burial Ceremony on Thursday, 20th October, 2022 by 11am.
The Fridau Prayer which will be conducted by prominent Muslim clerics would be held on Saturday, 22nd October, 2022 by 11am while the Thanksgiving Service would be on Sunday, 23rd October, 2022 by 11 am.
The chiefs enjoined every one to troop out en masse to give the traditional ruler a befitting burial but urge all to remain calm and peaceful before during and after the burial.
Present at the conference are Odofin imo, Chief Tunde Adesina, Balogun imo Chief Amodu, Are Olotu of Itori,, Chief Toyin Borbitey. Amona Baaroyin of Egbaland, Amona Tajudeen Oladeinde, Agodo chiefs, Imo chiefs, Baales, and several other sons and daughters of Agodo.
Meanwhile, after the murder, a total number of I6 suspects have been arrested by the police and arraigned incourt.
They are currently been held at Oba Correctional Center in Abeokuta.
In another release signed by Chief sikiru Amodu Balogun of Imo Town, the home town of Agodo people in Abeokuta, members of the public with further useful information that could aid police in their investigation were urged to make them available to the police to further help in the investigation.
