PASTOR IN POLICE NET FOR IMPREGNATING 12YRS OLD MEMBER OF HIS CHURCH

Pastor Michael Abiodun

A Pastor of "The Light House Gospel Church," Oluwo, Owode Egba, in Obafemi Owode Local Government area, Pastor Michael Abiodun (48yrs) is now in police net for defiling and impregnating a 12 year old member of his church (name withheld).

The Pastor was arrested following the report lodged by the young girl's mother at Owode Egba Divisional Headquarters who joined the church as a result of spiritual problem which had earlier led to the death of two of  her daughters.

In order to prevent the 12years old girl from the same calamity, she ran to the church for deliverance.

According to SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer of Ogun State, on a fateful day, Pastor Abiodun, a father  of three, asked the victim's mother to send her to him for special prayer.

However, on getting there, the Pastor took the young girl into a room within the church and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her which subsequently led to pregnancy.

On the tip-off of the young girl's mother, the DPO of Owode Egba Division of the Ogun State Police Command, CSP Olasunkanmi Popoola, detailed his detectives to the scene where the randy pastor was promptly picked up.

On interrogation, he confessed to the commission of the crime but blamed it on the devil.

He further confessed to being the person who disvirgined the victim who was a JSS 2 student.

The mother of the girl told the police that she did not suspect early enough that the girl was pregnant as she had not been menstruating before. It was difficult for her to know that she was pregnant until seven months after.

The victim, who was delivered of a baby three months ago informed the police that she was threatened by the Pastor of dare consequences if she informed anybody about what happened between them, and that was the reason she didn't inform her mother.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the transfer of the suspect to State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and possible prosecution.
