Alhaji Semiu Bola Lawal, a.k.a. Sembol, APC chieftain
It is now payback time for all politicians nurtured into relevance in Nigerian politics by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to meet their indebtedness to him, an All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Ogun State, Alhaji Semiu Bola Lawal, a.k.a. Sembol has said.
In an exclusive chat with THE STATEPOST recently in Abeokuta, Alhaji Lawal, a former Chairman of Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State pointed out that the time is "felicitous for all in APC to show our loyalty to Asiwaju Tinubu as our leader by supporting his aspiration to become the president of the country".
Alhaji Lawal insisted that Asiwaju Tinubu deserved the support of all his political colleagues especially those he made in politics and for his invaluable contributions to the survival of democracy in the country.
He pointed out that Tinubu deserved to be the president of this country as he had pay his due in national polity adding that "even as the National Leader of the ruling party in the country, the All Peoples' Congress (APC), he had been extremely careful not to rock the boat or talk out of turn but had instead helped to deepen democracy in the country".
The former chairman of Odeda Local Government Area in Ogun State noted that the national leader of APC not only has the sagacity to rule the country, he could also make a commendable economic turnaround for the nation as he has been extremely successful in all he has done in the past.
Alhaji Lawal passionately implored that everyone in APC should help Tinubu to actual his dream of ruling this country, including the Hausa-Fulani who he helped to come into power in 2015 by selling President Muhammadu Buhari to Nigerians, particularly the Yorubas.
He maintained that Tinubu is a war horse who had suffered for democracy to thrive in the country and should not now be abandoned in his time of need.
SEMBOL insisted that Tinubu who left governance since 2007 is a tested hand in administration adding that he had help to make Lagos State an exemplar in the country and had therefore proved that he is capable of taking Nigeria out of the woods.
Alhaji Lawal dismissed as irrelevant the rumour being spread abroad about his wealth; he pointed out that Asiwaju has made his money even before coming into politics noting that he is not now coming to amass wealth.
SEMBOL who also expressed his confidence that his party, the APC will continue to lead all other parties in the state gave pass mark to Governor Dapo Abiodun who he praised for his method of governance in Ogun State.
He said Abiodun's all-inclusive governance has attracted many politicians even from other parties especially from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to him and the APC and he has accommodated all of them.
Alhaji Lawal noted that Governor Abiodun would remain unbeatable for now in Ogun State because he had been fair in his development pattern to all parts of the state and to all including monarchs and the People in General.
