1 dead, 2 arrested in cults bloody clash in Abeokuta

                     The two arrested suspects, Habeeb Muideen a.k.a Oko 8 and one Ibrahim a.k.a Ayin.

A member of the dreaded Eiye Cult was killed while two of the Aiye Cult were arrested by the police in the early hours of yesterday in a bloody rivalry duel between the two groups for supremacy.

The two members of the Aiye Cult who were arrested in different locations by operatives of Ogun State Police Command are now undergoing interrogation at SWAT office to determine their roles in the clash which left one eiye member dead. 

The two suspects, Habeeb Muideen a.k.a Oko 8 and one Ibrahim a.k.a Ayin, were arrested following a distress call received by SWAT operatives that the Aiye Cult was engaging in a supremacy battle with the dreaded Eiye Cult at Elega/Iberekodo axis of Abeokuta metropolis.

On receiving the distress call, the Commander, SWAT, CSP Kalejaye Olanrewaju quickly led his men to the scene where the cultists on sighting the police, took to their heels but were hotly chased which led to the arrest of Habeeb Muideen at Iberekodo while Ibrahim was apprehended at Ajitadun area of the metropolis.

The two suspects are presently undergoing interrogation at SWAT office to determine their roles in the clash which left one Eiye member dead. 

Battle axes and assorted charms were recovered from the two cult members.

It will be recalled that not less than 37 members of various cult group have been arrested in the last one month the command had started clamping down on cultists across the state.

According to DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole has ordered the immediate and relentless manhunt for the fleeing members of the groups.
