FCE, Abeokuta To Get Radio Station Soon, Says Soyele

The Federal College Of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta will soon join the exclusive  club of higher institutions that have their own radio stations. 

According to the Provost Of the college, Dr. Rafiu Adekola Soyele, plan is on-going for the creation of the station which would become one of the learning tools of students in the school.

Briefing a handful of chosen journalists and some top senior staff of the college recently at a gathering in his office to mark his 100 days in office as the provost of the college, soyele pointed out that the radio station was just one of the goodies earmarked to be undertaken during his tenure to ensure that the FCE continue to excel.

The provost was of a firm belief that the creation of the radio station which will make FCE, Abeokuta join the highbrow league of institutions with radio stations like the University of Lagos and the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta would be of tremendous assistance to students and also as a source of revenue generation for the school. 

Dr. Soyele is also planning to construct a new Administrative Office for the school during his tenure. 

According to him, the new Administrative Office will not only afford more offices for staffs of the school but would also ensure that top administrative officers are housed together in one block to allow for administrative convenience. 

Also on the list of programs to be accomplished by the provost to make the college stands out among its peers is the reintroduction of a strong culture of maintenance as he intends to keep every facility in the school slick and span in working order.

To this end, the old Theatre Hall of the college which had been abandoned for some time because a new one was built is now to undergo renovation and conversion to "Post-Graduate Studies Hall".

Dr. Soyele said the intended pristine order would also be extended to the staff quarters and the student hostels as facelifts and improvements would be periodically accorded to all infrastructures in the school, noting that inclusive are road constructions, mending of fence, clearing of bushes among others.
