Pastor James Ndujekwu Ufondu, a Lagos based man of God has admonished clergies to henceforth desist from negative criticism of governments as he said it is unproductive.
Pastor Ufondu charged all men of God to avoid incessantly berating governments on issues without proffering think through solutions or alternatives.
In a chat with THE STATEPOST recently, the man of God who is the General Overseer of Eternal Hope Christian Mission a.k.a Holiness, Evangelical and Deliverance Center at Orile Iganmu, a suburb of Lagos Island noted that clergies by their callings and exalted positions should not just condemn for the sake of it.
He pointed out that criticism is easy to do adding that many men of God go by this easy route of deliberate disparagement of governments to attract cheap publicity and attention.
Pastor Ufondu said that clergies are the Voice of God on earth and so should restrain from hastening to criticism and condemnation.
He pointed out that as men of God, they should also realise that those they are criticising are humans and not infallible, an attribute which he said belongs to God only.
The man of God also advised that those criticising should ponder long over the matter and also remember to pray for those they are criticising as they are humans constantly in need of God's guidance.
He also implored that those who have designated themselves as watchdogs of governments should not also look forward to any gratification as that would amount to bribery.
Pastor Ufondu warned that a truly anointed man of God should loathe bribery or any filthy lucre and should also not be afraid to talk.
He however opined that the church is not talking enough as more men of God need to give concrete and truthful advice to governments.
The pastor also begged governments to listen more to truthful men of God who have messages and not those he called "big man pastors".
He said these sort of pastors are mainly out to line their pockets and to seek cheap publicity.
