Prince Dele Ajomale, the former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Mrs Kemi Nelson, a high flyer politician and a host of other political bigwigs in the country have been allegedly implicated in a case of land grabbing and fraud.
In a petition titled "URGENT FOR AN IMMEDIATE ACTION" addressed to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) at Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos and signed by Aaare Oladotun Hassan of Juryman Associate Chambers and the Chairman of Eti-Osa Bar Forum, Lagos, the accused were said to have been awarded pieces of land on the portion of land now in dispute with intent to impair justice.
Aare Hassan representing Prince Shola k. Fagbohun who is said to be the bona fide representative of Mike Daley Investment Limited, the owner of the piece of land constituting 68 plots situated at Odogbo Opebi Community, Off Osho Street, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos is asking the police to as a matter of urgency look into a case of conspiracy, fraud, threat of violence and land grabbing against one Pastor Folarin Igbasan and Laura Odukoya, a legal practitioner.
In the petition dated October 25, this year, Aare Hassan maintained that Chief Michael Akin Osiyemi, the Chairman of Mike Daley Investment Limited is the rightful owner of the landed property in dispute and had given the power of attorney to Prince Shola Fagbohun, evidence of which was attached to the petition.
However Aare Hassan alleged that Pastor Igbasan who was a secretary to the Opebi Family colluded with Laura Odukoya, a lawyer to obtain fictitious documents to back their fictional claim to the said property.
The Chairman of Eti Osa Bar Forum alleged that the culprits even mischievously give portions of land to top political bigwigs to facilitate easy procurement of documents which include the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), all in a desperate bid to authenticate their fictitious claim to ownership of the land.
Aare Hassan who claimed in his petition that his client has overwhelming evidence to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt also implored the police to intervene by initiating accelerated investigation into the matter as "'the culprits actively participated in the crime leading to lost of lives, destruction of properties worth millions of Naira and continuous intimidation of our clients amounting to threat to life".
