Abiodun begs for people's cooperation

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has declared his government’s commitment to develop every sector of the state's economy but however appealed that "we are counting on the continuous cooperation and support of our people, towards the fulfillment of our mantra".

The governor made the declaration and appeal while presenting the Staff of Office to the new Olu of Afowowa Sogaade, Oba Umar Hamzat, in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the State recently.

The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Afolabi Afuape expressed his administration's determination to also ensure that the traditional institution is properly positioned as they are the bridge between government and the people.

Prince Dapo Abiodun described traditional institution as one of the most respected institutions that his administration would continue to give necessary attention to for the advancement of the State and the betterment of the people.

The Governor urged the new Monarch to see his new position as a call to duty, charging him to join hands with the other royal fathers, so as to contribute positively to the promotion of the State and the culture of his people.

In his address, the Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Adesina congratulated Oba Umar Hamzat on his appointment, calling on the sons and daughters of the town to support the monarch to move the community forward for unprecedented development.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Hamzat appreciated the Governor and the people of Sogaade for giving him the opportunity to serve, saying his ascendancy to the throne was a divine call.

He assured that the town would embrace and accommodate business development on all fronts and remain home to all.
