Ogun State nursing schools to admit only 240 out of 1,650 candidates

Out of the  1,650 candidates that sat for admission into Ogun State Schools of Nursing and Midwifery for the 2020/2021 academic session, only 240 candidates would be offered admission.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker in Abeokuta, at the supervision of the entrance examination into the schools during the week.

Coker stated that merit would be accorded great importance as the present administration known for celebrating excellence, would not lower the standard of admission into its academic institutions.

Describing nursing and midwifery as an important profession, Dr Coker encouraged the candidates to give their best in the examination.

The Commissioner assured that success in the 2020 entrance examination would depend on what they know and not who they know. 

Also speaking, the Director of Nursing, in the Ministry of Health, Mrs. Khadijat Olayankun, said the products of the Schools are respected nationally, noting that successful candidates would resume for the academic session without delay.
