Dr. Olufemi Adeogun, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Ondo State General Hospital, Idoani in Ose Local Government Area of the state has been abducted by gunmen.
Mr Adeogun was kidnapped on Monday, alongside two other officers of the hospital.
The incident was confirmed by the state police spokesperson, Tee-Leo Ikoro, on Tuesday.
One of the two officers of the hospital kidnapped with the CMD is Foluke Ajibola in the record department while the other is yet to be identified. The three were accosted by their abductors around Owani/Idoani road.
An associate of the CMD, who did not want to be identified, said that Mr Adeogun’s driver was shot in the arm while trying to escape. He is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
When contacted, the police spokesperson, Mr Ikoro said efforts are already on to rescue the victims. He disclosed that police officers are currently combing the forest.
