GOV ABIODUN TO ADDRESS THE STATE ON OCT. 1 TO MARK NIGERIA'S 60TH NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY




Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun would on October 1, 2020 deliver an address to the people of the State in the morning as part of the activities marking the 60th independence anniversary of Nigeria.

In the programs outlined to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the country's independence, the event would commence with a Special Jumat Service on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta, by 1pm while Anniversary Church Service holds at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Ake, Abeokuta on Sunday September 27, 2020 at 10a.m.            

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, stated that the grand finale featuring a special documentary on Nigeria at 60 and presentations by school children, among others would come up at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta by 10 a.m.

It further stated that all events are strictly by invitation due to COVID-19 restrictions.
