The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi has lost his mother to the cold hands of death.
The monarch lost his mother (King's mother) , Alhaja Suebat Amope Alimi nee Akanbi to the cold grip of death in the early hours of today, Tuesday, August 11 after a brief illness.
Her death was disclosed on Tuesday by Alli Ibraheem, Chief Press Secretary to Oluwo.
Oba Akanbi in his tribute to his late mother described her as an achiever, who lived a fulfilled life.
Describing her passage as regrettable, Oba Akanbi said he will celebrate her death because her glory shined in her lifetime.
"You were an achiever. You witnessed the glory of your child becoming Oluwo. You felt fulfilled. You felt the joy and died joyfully.
"May you continue to rest in peace good mother. I felt the loss but still celebrating it. You came, you saw, you conquered.
Burial arrangements are currently underway to ensure a colourful burial for the woman.
