APC Mourns As Another Top politician Dies





Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Oke, is dead.

Oke, who is serving his second term in the council, died on Wednesday from complications arising from COVID-19.

Oke, was receiving treatment at the Gbagada Isolation Centre until his case became critical and had to be moved to ST Nicholas Hospital where he died.


Meanwhile, the governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reacted to the death of Babatunde Oke, the chairman of Onigbongbo local council development area (LCDA) of the state. 

Sanwo-Olu expressing his condolences in a statement issued by Gboyega Akosile his chief press secretary described Oke’s death as a big loss to his council and Lagos state. 

The governor also sympathized with Oke's immediate family, Bola Tinubu, national leader of the APC, Lagos APC, and the people of Onigbongbo LCDA. The governor speaking further asked the people to use Oke's demise as a reminder that all hands must be on deck in reducing the spread of COVID-19. 

Governor Sanwo-Olu prayed for God to grant Oke's soul eternal rest and comfort the immediate and political family. 

Oke died following complications from coronavirus. He passed away on Wednesday, August 12, at St. Nicholas Hospital on Lagos Island. Before he was moved to the hospital, the two-term council chairman was receiving treatment at the Gbagada isolation centre. Until his death, Oke was a staunch member of the All Progressives Congress in the state
