OGUN STATE GOV's WIFE CELEBRATES 54TH BIRTHDAY WITH LESS- PRIVILEGED




Bamidele Abiodun, Wife of Ogun State Governor celebrated her 54th birthday yesterday with people associated with leprosy at the Hansens Disease Center, Iberekodo and Children of the Juvenile Correctional Home, Asero, Abeokuta.


          Mrs. Abiodun said the less-privileged were integral part of the society and should be encouraged, so they could contribute their quota to the development of the State, saying it gave her much satisfaction to identify with them.

          She reiterated her commitment to the welfare of women, children and the vulnerable in the State, assuring that the present administration would not relent in giving them the needed support.

          The First Lady appreciated the medical staff and caregivers of Hansens Disease Center, for taking care of the patients, promising them of government’s continued and improved welfare.

          Speaking on behalf of people associated with leprosy, Mr. John Ojoawo, appreciated Mrs. Abiodun for her continued love and care for them, wishing her many more years in good health.

At the Juvenile Correctional Home, Asero, Mrs. Abiodun while cutting her birthday cake with the children, advised them to be of good behaviour and cooperate with their teachers and caregivers in nurturing them to be good citizens of the State.

          She presented the leper colony and correctional home with cash, food and other gift items.

          Other dignitaries who graced the occasion included, Wives of the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly and the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Bolanle Oluomo and Mrs. Derin Talabi respectively, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Funmi Efuwape, her counterpart in Trade and Investment Ministry, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe, among others.
