Alhaji, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab, the Chairman of Orirenitemi Community Development Association in Abeokuta comprising of over 50 communities has alerted the residents of the area to be more security conscious as an attempt to kidnap a girl in the community was foiled in the morning of Wednesday.

The security alert which was sent to all residents of the area via their Whashap reads: This is to inform all the dwellers of Orirenitemi CDA that today in the morning , there was an attempt to kidnap a girl in our community.

Narrating how It happened, Alhaji Wahab said that at a house beside the hill near the mosque, two men identified to be in white and red  soutana garments were seen by the fence of the house.

The men called a small girl coming out of the house, offering her a wrap of sweet which she declined.
She immediately  went back into the house to inform her elder brother and mother.

However, immediately the two men knew the game was up, they ran away into the bushy hill.
All efforts to trace them proved abortive as at morning time, Alhaji Wahab said.

He therefore warned all residents to be on the alert always as well as be mindful of where they send their children.

He also warned that any time they notice strange and suspicious  faces in the community, they should immediately call attention to it on time.
Alhaji Wahab noted that the warning is even more relevant now that raping of the girl child is increasing every day.
